Costs, quotes & planning
The practical details to understand before selections and construction begin.
How much does a bathroom renovation cost in Brisbane?
A standard complete bathroom or ensuite renovation generally falls between $29,000 and $35,000 excluding GST, including professional labour and standard materials. Room size, access, layout changes, tile and fixture selections, structural repairs and hidden conditions all affect the final fixed quote.
What is included in a standard bathroom renovation?
A complete scope commonly includes protection and strip-out, removal of linings where required, framing inspection, plumbing and electrical work, wet-area sheeting, waterproofing, tiling, fixtures, glazing, painting, rubbish removal and final cleaning. Your written quote confirms the exact inclusions for your room.
Do you provide a fixed-price quote and require an upfront deposit?
We provide a detailed fixed-price scope after inspecting the room and discussing the agreed selections. No upfront deposit is required; the quote explains the scope and payment stages before construction starts.
Can you help with bathroom design and product choices?
Yes. We can advise on practical layouts, storage, fixture positions and durable finishes suited to your room and budget. The goal is a bathroom that works well day to day, not simply a fashionable finish.
Can I supply my own fixtures, tiles and fittings?
Yes. You are welcome to supply some or all of your selections, or our team can help source trusted products. The quote is adjusted to clearly show what you are supplying and what is included in our scope.
Construction & site conditions
What happens during the renovation and how unexpected conditions are managed.
How long does a bathroom renovation take?
Most standard bathroom and ensuite renovations take about three to four weeks from construction start to handover. Shower and laundry renovations are often around two to three weeks. The confirmed programme depends on the scope, curing periods, product availability and any hidden repairs.
What happens if asbestos is found?
Before renovation work starts, we arrange for a sample of suspected material to be tested by a laboratory. If asbestos is confirmed, we provide a separate quote for removal by appropriately licensed asbestos professionals. Removal commonly costs around $2,000 to $3,000, depending on the material, quantity and site conditions.
What if rotten timber or water damage is found behind the walls?
Removing failed linings allows the exposed framing and substrates to be inspected. If hidden damage is found, we document the issue, explain the repair required and agree on any necessary variation before covering the area again.
How is bathroom waterproofing handled?
The substrate, falls, junctions, penetrations and drainage connection are prepared before a compliant wet-area membrane is applied to the required areas. The membrane must be checked and allowed to cure before tiling proceeds.
Who coordinates the different trades?
Our family team manages the renovation as one coordinated project. Adam generally handles quotes and planning, Zoran oversees the build and workmanship, and Dean manages day-to-day site progress and trade scheduling.
Your home & renovation options
Answers about approvals, access, service areas and the types of rooms we renovate.
Do I need council approval for a bathroom renovation?
Many like-for-like internal bathroom renovations do not require council approval, but structural changes or significant alterations to plumbing can introduce additional requirements. We assess the proposed work and advise what needs to be confirmed for your property.
Can I live in my home during the renovation?
Most clients remain at home, provided they have another usable bathroom and are comfortable with normal construction activity. The renovated room will be unavailable, and there will be noise, dust controls and trades moving through the agreed access path.
Can you renovate only a shower area?
In most cases, yes. We do complete shower-only renovations, although complete bathroom renovations are our primary focus. Availability depends on our current workload, so during busy periods a smaller shower project may need to be scheduled for a later date. We will assess the shower, explain the work required and give you a realistic timeframe before you proceed.
Do you renovate laundries as well as bathrooms?
Yes. We complete laundry renovations including layout planning, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical work, wet-area linings, benchtops, sinks, splashbacks, floor finishes and appliance connections.
Which areas do you service and how do I get started?
We work across Brisbane Northside, Southside, Eastern and Western suburbs, Ipswich and surrounding areas. Start with the guided quote form or call our team to arrange a conversation and on-site consultation.
